Azure & Green Biothermic Digester BTD

Azure & Green's biothermic digester represents an innovation in the waste treatment industry.

This waste treatment plant primarily relies on a blend of natural bacteria and enzymes to digest and reduce organic waste like ETP sludge and food waste, giving it utility in the food processing industry, hospitality industry, catering industries and more.

Follow the initial breakdown of the input, heating pads and an extractor fan work in tandem to dehydrate the resulting digestate into a fine powder (Boasting a dryness level of approximately 75%). This output can be categorised as a soil conditioner.

This case study examines the performance of a biothermic digester unit that was installed and tested at W Hotel Palm Jumeirah, a 349-room beach resort in Dubai.

After discussion with Mr. Jehad, director of engineering at the W Hotel, a biothermic digester unit was installed for testing on June 8 2023.

The initial processing began with 25kg of organic waste, consisting of kitchen scraps and vegetables, and this amount was subsequently increased to 80kg per day of the same organic waste mixture.

What were the results of our biodigester?

The trial of the biothermic digester (BTD) at the W Hotel commenced on June 8th, 2023 and concluded on June 17th, 2023. During this period, a total of 395 kg of organic waste was processed by the unit.

The BTD achieved a remarkable volume reduction of approximately 97%, with the final output amounting to roughly 2.5 kg, with an additional 4.5-5.5 kg remaining in the last chamber for further processing.

The BTD's power consumption averaged around 3 kW, primarily activated during the operation of the heat pads and shaft.
